One worthy practice for believers

"Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you."

The world is in a faster race, achieving matters greater than the understanding of common man. While a lot of efforts are put into improving human lives, problems never seem to end. Peacelessness is a great problem. Regions rage against each other for their own welfare. Concerns of war happen every passing year. All homes experience peacelessness in recent times. Relationships grow weak as family members often find difficulty in communicating well. Conversations turn into misunderstandings. Unlike the previous decades, people are unwilling to resolve conflicts or forgive each other. Such peaceless atmosphere inside homes gradually gives devil the control for devastating the family as a whole if allowed. Besides, diseases creep in anytime. Painful health problems are a nightmare to the young and the old alike. Life is too precious to be ruined by the devil.

The Holy Bible teaches a solution that hints to help believers attain peace at their homes. It is observed in the recent times that many refrain from visiting or gifting anyone at all for numerous reasons including security issues and financial instabilities. Human beings are taught from an early age about their interdependence. Visits from trustworthy and safe neighbours, relatives, fellow believers and the like brings happiness.

The passage from Luke chapter 10 verses 3 to 12 is all about the instructions set by Jesus towards the seventy two appointed people. Every person that lives in Christ agrees to the importance of verses 5 and 6. This is a passage where Christians can find peace for their homes. Only requirement is a son of peace. We may consider the requirement as one family member in each house that gives peace to all in life. It is tough to be a 'son of peace' in this selfish world. However, the reward is priceless as the same person experiences peace resting on him. And, peace from God is entirely a whole new blessed experience.

Jesus had already given peace to all believers beforehand. (John 14:27) However, sins and shortcomings give way for Satan to steal peace from children of God every opportunity he gets. This repeats until families take extreme efforts to maintain holiness as much as possible. Readers that had strict elders in their growing years might be able to recollect their advise, restricting from worldly activities. The world has given all people sufficient experiences to learn people hardly survive in peacelessness. The peace of a home can be lost within minutes if one is careless. In such scenarios, believers practice as much holiness as possible. In addition to all efforts, believers practice receiving spiritual people appointed by Christ at their homes. A blessing of peace uttered at first by the anointed according to verse 5 of Luke chapter 10 brings peace. The peace from God rests upon the 'son of peace'. That results in the family experiencing peace that surpasseth all understanding regardless of their needs. (Philippians 4:7) The important point is to ensure the guest that families recieve at home is appointed by Christ. Also, the family should provide food and drink to the person as mentioned in the Bible passage.

Readers of Blooming Staff are encouraged to seize the opportunity if the Lord sends his appointed people to your place. Abide by His instructions as mentioned in the word of God. Lend helping hands in fulfilling the desire of our Lord filling each house with His peace. May all houses that have 'sons of peace' receive this great blessing from the Lord.

Prayer: Abba Father, make us 'sons of peace'. Send your anointed ones to bless us with peace at our home. Fill us with your grace to maintain holiness. May your name be glorified. Amen.
