Eyes of God and eyes of believers
"We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12c
"God sees all that you do" is a dialogue readers might recollect from their childhood memories. It is true based on Proverbs 15:3 and Hebrews 4:13. God sees all that everyone does. God created everything. God created everyone. Almighty God cares about the overall conduct of His children as well as the conduct of others toward His children. The care of God measures way beyond human parents. Psalms 32:8 teaches that God sets His eyes upon the one He counsels. That means God counsels each believer in the way each one can understand it. The reason is the righteousness of God in giving opportunities to obey Him. Zechariah 2:8 reveals that God values His believers as the apple of His eye. Psalm 121:7,8 are verses that shows God watches over His children. God loves His children very much. The eyes of God describes the love of God. The eyes of God counsels rightly. Anointed believers will agree they experience their lives of faith inside the eyes of God.
King Jehoshaphat was a person that walked in the way that God set. King Jehoshaphat was once facing war against three nations where his army was outnumbered. (2 Chronicles 20:1,2) The King decided to seek God and praise Him. 2 Chronicles 20:12c shows the heart of King Jehoshaphat and his people at the time they said, " We dont know what to do, but our eyes are on you." The chapter records the power of God in His communication toward His people and their deliverance from enemies in spite of being outnumbered. King Jehoshaphat and his people set their eyes on God. That lead to their victory. It is written in Psalm 119:18, "Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law". It is also written in Mathew 6:22, "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light." Believers thus have the responsibility of setting their eyes on God at all times for maintaining wonders in their lives along with health and light in their bodies. Prayer of the anointed is powerful to open eyes as well as to strike with blindness. (2 Kings 6:17,18) However, believers are also warned against setting their eyes on anything worthless in the book of Psalms. (Psalm 101:3, Psalm 119:37)
Those that set their eyes on God, the God who has already set His eyes on His believers will achieve miracles. God and His children that spiritually look at each other share a special relationship. That relationship exceeds imagination even beyond the relationship that human parents and their children share in unity. Any challenge will be overcome when such a strong relationship is maintained between a believer and his / her Heavenly Father. Take heart in spiritually understanding the eyes of our Almighty God. Blooming staff encourages readers to realize the powerful watch of the Lord over His children. Setting eyes on God always with faith is one sure way to maintain victory.
Prayer: Our loving Father who watches us constantly, guide us to obey your counsel always. Create in us the heart to set our eyes on You always. Amen.
